Sack Hunger

During this past holiday season, Raymond James, the Glazer Family Foundation, Campbell’s/Chunky Soup, UnitedHealthcare and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers teamed up for the annual campaign to “Sack Hunger” and support families in need of food donations. Volunteers from Feeding America Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries and local area food banks collected items including canned meats, soups, fruits and vegetables to feed thousands of hungry families each year.

How Sack Hunger Helps Our Community

An estimated 700,000 people in west central Florida struggle with hunger and 250,000 of those people are children. Since the Sack Hunger program inception, more than 114 tons of non-perishable and canned food items have been collected. This year, donations benefited local food banks including Feeding America Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries.

Game Day Food Drive Collection

Through the generosity and support of Tampa Bay-area residents and Buccaneers fans, and Buccaneer Pewter Partners, the food donations and game day collections that poured in this year were equivalent to 15,263 meals for needy families in the Tampa Bay community.

  • Juices (liquid or dry mixes)

  • Instant potatoes
  • Black beans, kidney beans or pinto beans (canned or dried)
  • Boxed cereals
  • Dry or shelf-stable milk
  • Baby food (jars, boxes of rice cereal)
  • Cake mix
  • Dessert mix (Jello, pudding)
  • Gravy
  • Sugar or flour
  • Condiments
