Sack Hunger

When we team up, we can all make a difference.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Raymond James, Moffitt Cancer Center, The Tampa Tribune/, Sysco and United Healthcare teamed up to “Sack Hunger and Stack Toys” to help support families in need this past holiday season. Through the generosity and support of Tampa Bay-area residents and Buccaneers fans, the Sack Hunger food drive helped volunteers from Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries and local area food banks collect items that fed thousands of hungry families. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and game day collections from Buccaneer ticket holders, the Sack Hunger program has collected more than 140 tons of non-perishable and canned food items since it’s inception.

This year’s drive also partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to collect new, unwrapped toys for their annual Toys for Tots drive. The donated toys were distributed to underprivileged children throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Food banks also accept supplies year-round to help those in need. You can help by donating to facilities directly or hosting a food drive of your own.

Visit the benefiting organization websites to learn more about how you can help.
